Positive Steps offer our clients the opportunity to gain a recognised health and safety certificate from IOSH the professional body for Occupational Health and Safety, we currently offer the following courses:

 

 

IOSH MANAGING SAFELY – 4 DAY COURSE

'Practical health and safety training for Managers and Directors'

This four day course is designed for persons who are required to manage health and safety effectively within their organisation. This course offers delegates help on handling health and safety in their teams by giving practical step by step guidance on the key issues that Managers are responsible for.

COURSE CONTENT

The course is split into eight modules which include:
  • Introduction to managing safely.
  • Assessing risk.
  • Controlling risk.
  • Understanding responsibilities.
  • Identifying hazards.
  • Investigating accidents and incidents.
  • Measuring performance.
  • Protecting the environment.
This course consists of 24 hours of classroom based training; practical assessments and workplace assessments followed by a written multiple choice assessment paper and a practical assessment.

Successful completion of the course results in a certificate awarded by IOSH.

This course can be offered over a week or four consecutive weeks in order to allow us to tailor the training to our client's needs.

IOSH WORKING SAFELY – 1 DAY COURSE

'Introducing a completely new approach to health and safety training'

Everyone needs to understand the importance of being safe within their working environment and how their actions can make a real difference to their well being and that of others.

At Positive Steps we offer a practical one day course which has been designed by a team of specialists from our professional chartered body IOSH and delivered by our qualified consultants.

COURSE CONTENT

The course is split into five modules which include:
  • Introduction to working safely.
  • Defining hazard and risk.
  • Identifying common hazards.
  • Improving safety performance.
  • Protecting the environment.
Each module uses practical examples and genuine work situations to engage delegates in understanding the importance of health and safety whilst maximising interactivity.

Successful completion of the course results in a certificate awarded by IOSH.
